LOKI SE LONDON

Loki is a black short haired belgian shepherd who is vaccinated and microchipped. We are told that he was bought off a facebook post a couple of months ago but they don't have toime to train out his puppy behaviours as they both work full time

This dog is just too puppy for these owners. He just has high energy but  the owners think this is misbehaving and he has behavioural issues, but it really is  literally a lack of time in training.

Loki is a lovely dog, who when confident that once the volunteers presence did not mean danger, didn’t mind taking a treat from her hand, and took it gently. He loves a cuddle on the sofa, and loves snuggling under the owners arm. He even came up and settled next to the volunteer

.HE IS VERY UNDERWEIGHT. Owner does not know his weight, and even confessed to me that she has never even looked on the side of the tinned food to see how many tins of food he needs a day, just assumed 1 in the morning 1 at night. Could explain why he is frantic and destroys things as he has never full.

He absolutely lacks exercise. The walk we went on, he absolutely pulls like a train on his harness. The owner was dragged into roads etc on the way to the woods by both dogs on the lead, and has no lead etiquette, he has followed the staffie on this one, they don’t care that the owner was saying “steady, slow down” it was as if they haven’t been out in a while. His face changed completely when he was out, compared to when he was in the house. He LOVES to sniff about in the woods and run with his dog companion, if only the whole walk didn’t take us 15 mins to complete. The owner confirmed this is his daily walk route, but is ok because he “pants and sleep on return so he must be tired”.

He is not stimulated enough at all, so he looks for other things to entertain himself, so he chews furniture, or goes through the recycling for a good cardboard box he can destroy.

Any new owner settling him in  needs to gain his trust, and work on getting some meat on his bones.! Recall is very good, and sits very well for a treat. He needs a head halti so his lead walking can be controlled.

Hopefully there will be someone out there to give this young man the life he so deserves.....
