Lexy is a 3 year old young lady looking for her forever home as her owners are moving and cannot take her with them.
She is unspayed vaccinated and microchipped.
She is said to be good around children but we feel due to her food aggression it would not be sensible to home her with children.
She has not been socialised with dogs out of the home but is said to be fine with a small family dog when it visits.
Lexy does resourv=ce guard and anyone wanting to take her on musdt have an understanding of guarding. She will gusrd toys, bones, food. She will growl if you go near, so does warn.
She barked excitedly when the volunteers arrived, but she settled very quickly. She does not jump or nip, but she hates her paws being touched and will growl. She has very quick reactions.
Lexy loves to go travelling in the car.
Out walking she is said to have good recall. She doesn't go far from her owner. However the walk with the volunteers was extremely short as she didn't like being walked by strangers and got herself very sgtressed.She is rarely walked on a lead and pulls like a train. The volunteers took her home as they felt her stress levels were dangerous for her as they were on a fairly busy road.
She does have a good understanding of commands.
Lexy is a complicated young lady, she shows 2 sides to her character. The owners see one side which is sweet and nice but the volunteers that although NOT A BAD dog she is complicated. It could be with proper mental and physical stiulation, daily walks and careful retraining of her habit to guard she can become the dog that she is meant to be.
