Max is 4 years old and sadly looking to be re homed as he is becoming too protective around owners and they have tried training techniques but so far no real change in Max's behaviour. He met our volunteer with a muzzle on and gladly went for a walk where on a dogmatic he was very good and walked well, past people and other dogs, the only time he stopped and thought about what to do next was when a cat crossed his path. We are told Max is only let off lead in quiet areas where there are no distractions. In the home he is a good dog except when visitors arrive and he is taken into the kitchen and brought back in muzzled, our volunteer asked for muzzle to be removed and Max was fine but he wasnt having any treats or a fuss from this stranger and he definitely grumbled when she moved too close to mum. Current owner obviously loves max very much and is quite soft in her approach to his behaviour. Outside the home Max regularly goes to the groomers and is very good in their care (not muzzled) and also when he goes into kennels he is fab around the kennel staff. Maybe going forward just needs a firmer voice and confident handling. Max isnt known around children so an adult only home would be great for this boy.
