Kika is a gorgeous 4 year old lovable, excitable girlie. She is house trained, crate trained, good around children, has been in contact with varying ages (babies - 9 years).
I was greeted with some excitement and licking but she soon settled. Kika knows basic commands and has had some training. However, her recall is poor when distracted, i.e. other dogs/people. We are told that Kika will “go deaf” when distracted and run up to other dogs/people but with no aggression, she just wants to greet them and is very excitable. For this reason, she is mainly exercised on a long line. She will work for treats, so I feel her recall could easily become more reliable with a bit more training.
She would not be suited to a household with cats as she will bark and chase. Has not been tested with livestock. Kika is non destructive in the house, but will take and carry shoes or other items, but then loses interest. Kika does not resource guard and will give up items such as food, toys etc., although she will counter surf in the kitchen for food. Kika is used to long journeys in the car and travels well.
I took Kika for a short walk, she is good on the lead with no pulling until distracted. She did react (barked, and at that point was very strong on the lead) to a large plant pot, but settled and came away once reassured there was nothing there.
I feel this lovely energetic girl would thrive and make the perfect companion with someone who could give her a little more time, training and stimulation.
