Max is a mere 10 months old and sadly a victim of circumstance. Bought by a partner who has left and the current carer just cannot cope.
Max lives with children over 12 but has met iVsiting children of 3 years upwards. He lives with a pug whom he gets on great but he hasn't been socialised outside of the home. One of Max's ears hasn't managed to stand up and at his age it is likely to stay floppy but we think that gives him character
He cannot live with cats.
Max barked on arrival of the volunteer but was very well behaved. He is said to jump up at women and children but more in excitement and being untrained. This can be worked on.
Max doesn't like being left alone and will chew !! again this can be worked on slowly. EWhen left he has classic FM on and this does help with his anxiety.
He is fine traveling but needs to be lifted into the car, at present will not jump in on his own.
Max has a sensitive tummy (lots of shepherds do) there will be a good quality diet out there to suit him.
Max likes water on HIS terms, doesn't like having a shower.
Max is very inexperienced when out. A true pup, very strong on the lead and just pulls and sniffs. He was unphased by traffic but does get VERY excited when he sees people or other dogs. This is normal for a youngster and work can be done to help him grow.
Max is a bright , already tall impressive boy. Currently weighing about 35kg. He will initially need a physically strong handler but we cannot see any reason why woth boundaries consistency and a good diet he will not quickly become a great and manageable companion. He is brilliant with the current chiuldren and resident dog, but has no sense of how to behave when out as he rarely gets beyond his garden. Just a big puppy who really deserves his second chance at living his best life.
