Keely - Lancs

UPDATE: after just 1 day in kennels she has settled and it turns out that she's a bit of a cuddle monster

This is Keely who is just 1 year old and was brought to our attention by the dog warden because of her dreadful living conditions and the owners mental health problems.

There were 4 other dogs in the household which Keely could not cope with so she has spent a great deal of time shut in a crate.

Keely is a sable long coat who is unspayed but has never had a season whilst with her current owners and they got her at 6 months.

Keely is very nervous, she has not been socialised and is reactive to other dogs but with fear not aggression.

We pulled Keely out of her dreadful situation but the only alternative we had was to put her in boarding kennels which is not good for a nervous dog. When dropped off at the kennels she was very scared and retreated to the corner so our volunteer had to sit with her to reassure her.

A member of staff from the kennels has been very good and is sitting with Keely when she can to comfort her and feed her bits of chicken.

Update from the kennels is that she is slowly warming to them, she's been in the play pen but is wary of the toys, eaten small amount of chicken. Not barking just a bit subdued.

Because of what has happened to Kelly we are looking for an experienced home for Keely without other pets and without young children as we think that would be too much for her to cope with.

Keely's whole world has suddenly changed and we know that with the right owner she will gain in confidence and flourish. She is a young dog that has just had a bad start to her short life.

Can you offer Keely the home and guidance that she desperately needs now?
