Kaiser currently is not being walked, he lives in the dining room shut away from the rest of the family 24 hours a day . The young son who is 9 yrs is scared of Kaiser, so the owner does not let Kaiser into the living room at all.
Kaiser was 10 weeks old when he was purchased, he was the last of the litter . When she first took him home he hid under the sofa and would not come out for hours. He has always been nervous and gets quiet anxious.
When I was at the house, the owner brought Kaiser into the living room wearing his harness and halti . He barked continually, till he was taken off the lead. He stole everything he could, owner shouted at him and kept taking the items away from him, I think he does this to get attention! I was told they only play ball with him when they go into the kitchen.
Kaiser was happy to let me stroke him. He bought me his pull toy, but as soon as I stopped playing tug with him, he started to mouth my arm quite badly. I don’t think they have taught him this behaviour is wrong!
Kaiser has had some training at a local training school in Hull when he was younger , but the owner was not always present for the training, when she was, she only joined in for 15 minutes at a time. I was told his behaviour did start to improve, but the owner has not ke pt up with the training , because it was too expensive.
I don’t think Kaiser should be rehomed with children as he could potentially hurt them, because of the mouthing issues. Preferably a person that can give Kaiser plenty of exercise and with the correct training he will be a fantastic dog. A home without cats or other dogs.
Kaiser needs an experienced owner who can give him stability and help him gain confidence in dealing with new situations. The reward will be a great companion.
