Kaiser is a 2 year old, neutered, male, full German shepherd boy looking for a new home. He has been rehomed previously but sadly he has shown some challenging behaviours that, although his family have worked on, have proven too much in the long run.
Kaiser is a very clever boy who has learnt a lot with his current family. He is responsive to training and can follow various commands such as sit, down, heel etc. He is easily distracted though and can only be let off lead in a secure area. He is looking for a GSD experienced home that can help him to learn some self control as he can get very excited very quickly which can lead to mouthing. His current family have made good progress with this.
He could share his home with a cat as he has previously but would be best as the only dog in the home. He isn’t suited to living with children due to his mouthing and over exuberance.
Kaiser can sometimes lunge at people as he passes them as well as bicycles. He initially lunged at vehicles too however the work done by his current home has got him out of that habit. He is also sometimes reactive to dogs. There is no obvious pattern to his lunging but he requires someone strong enough to hold him and willing to work with him on learning that these behaviours aren’t necessary.
Outside of all this Kaiser is a loving boy who enjoys having his family around. He is fine to be left and settles no problems. His current family say he is fine with fireworks and even enjoys watching them on tv! He would really benefit from an active home with someone willing to engage his brain, are you the one for him?
