This young lad is Jerry Lee who is an entire 7 months old and is being rehomed because of owners ill health and inability to exercise him.
Jerry has not been socialised from a puppy but is fine with the immediate family although he has been teased by a 9-year-old when he is in his crate and shown his teeth! He is very protective of his female owner.
Our volunteer found Jerry Lee to be quite reactive because he is not used to meeting people and this poor dog has never been given any boundaries or guidance. He seemed frightened and unsure but we believe that given strong leadership he would turn into a super dog. His owner's nervousness puts him on edge but if she were out of the equation we think Jerry Lee would be a different dog.
He some training but his current owner doesn't have time so he needs to be taken back to the basics and start from scratch.
He loves to play but gets very excited and mouths, he also loves to grab mops and brooms.
Jerry Lee has all the makings of a being a fantastic companion but he needs an experienced owner with the time to build his confidence and put in some groundwork with socialising to get him on the right track.
Jerry Lee would be best in an adult only home or one with older children used to this breed.
Can you give this lovely boy the chance that he now deserves?
