Well here we have the gorgeous, big young lad Jackson who is just 11mths old. When the volunteer went to assess him he barked and was suspicious at first but very quickly settled down and was happy to be stroked and wanted to play.
Jackson belongs to a family with two young children aged 2 and 5 who he is brilliant with. Whilst the volunteer was present, Jackson was playing with the children and followed them upstairs to their bedroom. He was playing tug with the 5 year old and was very gentle with her.
Jackson is fine with other dogs but the owner doesn't think he likes cats and would probably chase. With the man of the house, he is very well behaved, great off lead and recall is good. With the lady of the house, he is not so obedient and doesn't always do as he is told.
Jackson was bought as an 8 week old puppy when the couple were living in and running a pub. Sadly, their circumstances have changed and the man of the house works very long hours 6 days a week. They live in rented accomodation on a very busy main road and it is difficult for the lady to push a buggy and walk Jackson at the same time.
Jackson is clearly missing his master and is not happy with the way things are now and he has started to chase his tail. You can see the bald patch half way along his tail. Whilst the assessor was there, Jackson did not chase his tail whilst in the room but when he followed the children upstairs he could be heard circling on the wooden floor.
The family know that their current situation is not right for a large active dog like Jackson and reluctantly, they are asking us to rehome him for them.
Jackson is vaccinated, microchipped but not yet neutered as he is not reached his first birthday yet.
An absolutely lovely dog who will be a fantastic addition for any family.
