Adorable Isla is 11yrs old and has lived in a kennel her whole life, she is used to being left alone for long periods of time. Her vets contacted us when her owner threatened to PTS her after a new neighbour complained about Isla barking.
She hasn't had any contact with children and not mixed much with other dogs. Isla has previously lived with a Border Collie bitch and did used to go to a local boarding kennel for the worst of the winter. The vets said that she was very well behaved in there.
Isla will chase chickens and cats given the chance. She has never shown any aggression and is fine with strangers. She took treats gently from our assessor and was very grateful for some attention. She walks well on a lead. She is a little stiff on her back legs but nothing more than to be expected at her age. She is on no medication and the vets have said there are no long term problems with Isla.
UPDATE Isla is now in a warm and cozy foster home with another dog. She is a little nervous as everything is completely alien to her but she is settling well and is still looking for her forever home. If you can offer Isla her retirement home please get in touch.
