Indy - North East

Indy is a stunning 3 year old boy looking for a new home as his previous owners were worried he was too boisterous to be around the young children in the home.
Indy is a friendly dog who lacks training and stimulation so he's very excitable. He still has a puppy like energy and jumps up at visitors and tends to mouth for attention.
Being a young GSD, the lack of boundaries and stimulation is his previous home has left him frustrated and a bit confused as to how he is supposed to behave.
Our volunteer took him for a walk and he was interested in everything. He is strong on the lead but walked OK with a headcollar on. His recall needs working on as he gets easily distracted and doesn't pay much attention to his handler. Indy barks at other dogs when on the lead but is fine with them when off lead. He will need an experienced owner who can commit to starting his training from scratch, building engagement with him and keeping him physically and mentally active.
Indy is a young dog with high energy levels who doesn't know any better and needs someone to show him the ropes and establish some boundaries. He is a big boy and guards his food and favourite toys, so we wouldn't rehome him with young children. He cannot live with cats either.
This lovely boy has a lot of potential and will flourish in the right hands – he simply needs to live with someone wo can meet his needs.
