Meet the gorgeous Hunter. Hunter is one year old and is looking for a new home as his owners can't meet his needs. He is a typical young GSD who has been left to his own devices most of the time so he needs someone who can pick up on his training.
Our volunteer went to meet Hunter and found him to be a bouncy but friendly dog. He didn't bark when they arrived but jumped up at them in excitment. He eventually calmed down enough to take treats nicely and respond to the basic sit / down/ paw commands. This lovely boy has lived in a back garden all his life and doesn't currently get walked as much as he needs so he got overly excited and started mouthing when it was time to put his lead on to go for a walk. He's pretty strong on the lead and reacts to other dogs, although there is no aggression. Hunter is still a curious puppy who is very interested in other dogs as he's never had the opportunity to interact with them.
Hunter needs someone who can teach him boundaries to help him out of his puppy behaviours and shape him into a great dog.
He has never lived indoors so he will probably need some time to adjust but he will love getting the attention he so deserves. Hunter has lived with children but due to his bounciness, he will only be rehomed with older children.
This beautiful boy is basically a big puppy and with time and guidance, there is no reason why he couldn't grow into a well balanced GSD.
