BACK IN KENNELS FOR BEING A YOB!!!!!!
Hunter is young and we have said all along that he needs his boundaries set in a calm confident manner. He doesn't need an Alpha but he does need consistency and reward for good behaviour. Kennels really isn't the place for this boy he needs a home that is up for a challenge as with the right help he will make a great companion.
All this takes time effort and hard work. You cannot give up at the first hurdle as he is quickly learning that 1 strike and he is out, therefore his trust of humans is waining.
He deserves a home willing to take it slowly, allow him time to adjust and settle asking nothing of him for the first few weeks
Well what can we say. Hunter needed to be rehomed as he is a young boy and was being left for long periods every day. His owners knew that they were not being fair to him so made the right decision for Hunter.
We thought we had found a great home for him but within 24 hours they asked that he be removed, why ??? because he followed them around
A volunteer collected Hunter and took him to his home. Hunter is currently living with 5 other dogs. He had no understanding of etiquet or dog manners but is quickly learning from the pack. He has been told in no uncertain terms that some greetings are unacceptable and unwanted. He is certainly a quick learner and has found his place at the bottom of the pack.
He is also learning the word NO. He has no manners or boundaries, loves to do a spot of counter surfing and pinching things that aren't his. Once he has them you will need to distract to get them back. He really is a teenager pushing boundaries and needs to be kept in check. Boundaries first, he really needs to learn how to be a dog and follow commands.
The volunteer says he is the sweetest boy who for the right home is a blank canvas. He is a very sociable dog and craves human attention. He needs his boundaries set and some manners put in place but he really has no serious vices. All the volunteers that have met Hunter to date think he is a fabulous boy.
If you are calm, confident and experienced with the breed and are looking for a young boy to work with look no further.
