Kye is a 3 year entire GSD cross male. He is good with his owner?s children but we would not rehome him with young children. Kye is not good with other dogs as he is very dominant and is a no to cats. Being rehomed due to financial reasons and lack of time to give him the attention he deserves. This is what our volunteer said about him: Not an easy dog to get close to. He was muzzled when I got there and crept around growling. Took his muzzle off for the pictures but owner kept a good grip on him. He is a nice dog, but seems to have been the victim of so-called dog trainers. At 5 months old, he was trained to walk to heel and recall off lead. He was a nervous dog and for that reason was taken to a dog trainer. The "trainer" faced him full on and strode up to him, so Kye lunged at him. From then on he was codemned to a muzzle. He was then taken to two other trainers, who wouldn't let him work off lead , even with the muzzle on, and wasn't allowed to socialise with the other dogs. All these so-called experts said that he would not improve. His owner has struggled with him since. If she introduces him to things and people bit by bit he is fine. Kye needs someone who knows how to handle a nervous dog (gently). He frowns because he is so anxious. With the proper handling he could be turned around.
