Harley - Bristol
This beautiful boy is 5 year old Harley, he came to the rescue with is equally stunning sister Sheba. Since being in kennels much lead work and training has been done with Harley and he continues to improve every day. Harley has recently been on a kennel break with his sister to one of our volunteers homes this is their feedback. “ What a lovely dog! Harley will get excited when you first try to put on his lead but after some desensitation work after just two days he was beginning to become calmer. When first out again if unchecked he will pull on the lead but this is just with the excitement of getting a walk, once checked or with use of a dogmatic this will cease to be a problem. His basic commands and recall will need to be reinforced outside of the home; however Harley is a bright lad and learns fast especially when there is a ball or high value treat involved. He also settles quickly and travels well in a car and a van. Within the house Harley is an absolute pleasure, he is calm and relaxed and completely house trained. He will stand at the kitchen or lounge door and ask to come in, he will not go upstairs without being invited. Harley is not food proud and will also give up his toys easily. This friendly easy going lad likes nothing more than a fuss and a cuddle and he is completely happy. He will even let you groom and vacuum him!! Harley was introduced to 30 other GSD’s whilst out on one of our GSDR Bristol walks and was really well behaved with all of the other dogs and played nicely. We believe that given the opportunity he may however chase livestock or any cats in the garden; however, when out on a walk he paid no heed to a tame squirrel and only pulled slightly when he saw a deer! He is very good with children and is very gentle. The lovely boy would so much love to be re homed with his sister Sheba. However, if this is not to be then we would suggest that he is in a home where he is not left for long as he does pine for her. All this lovely lad is waiting for is a home to call his own and a table to get his paws under. In return you will have a really loving companion with so much to give. He really does not deserve to have been in kennels for so long. ”
