Gunner is quite a big boy, who is very loving and likes to be close to you for cuddles, he does however need to be shown who's the boss as given the chance Gunner will become dominant and feel he has to be the boss. He is currently living with another quiet GSD who he gets along fine. However outside he can be reactive to small dogs, especially the tiny tots who come yapping out of nowhere. Gunner needs an experienced home where they can set the boundaries and he knows what is expected of him. He's not too boisterous but can get excitable when first meeting new dogs, a good confident handler will soon calm him down and that's all he needs, a good confident handler for him to adore. Before re homing originally by GSDR he spent a short time with one of our volunteers where he happily lived with several other GSDs and was quite happy within the pack. Now he is currently showing signs of dominance in his current home and can get quite "nippy" when he feels new people are coming into his home and if he feels you are beneath him in the pack he can growl to get you to beggar off. If you are confident handler and used to stroppy teenage lads Gunner will surely calm and settle, he is much loved by his current family but as he is they feel he needs to find a new home asap as they have lost confidence around him.
