Here we have Gorgeous George who has been with the rescue for some considerable time. George spent the first few years of his life kept as a guard dog in a livery. Having said that he doesn't like horses neither does he like any other livestock such as sheep or poultry.
George is a very protective dog and does not like strangers, which is only to be expected given his past 'job'. He would be better in an experienced, quiet, rural home with land sharing his home with either a single person or a couple.
George is used to living in a kennel and probably best as an outdoor/indoor dog i.e. somewhere he can choose where he mooches throughout the day. George is currently in foster care and is OK with most of the other dogs in that foster home. George is pretty laid back in his foster home and just likes to do his own thing.
His foster mum does walk him around the country lanes but has to double lead him with a check chain and head collar because he is not good if he meets horses, joggers, cyclists etc. He is much better than when he first came into the rescue but will need a calm experienced owner who understands this breed.
George with his best pal Maya who is also looking for a new home. Maya runs rings around poor George and wears him out!
