Well this fluffball is Gabby (Gabriela) who is just 4 and a half months old and recently arrived here with her brother. Although not originally a GSDR dog, we agreed to take her because we have experience with these type of dogs. Her brother is being fostered by another rescuer
Although not a German Shepherd, Gabby is very much a shepherd dog. Her grandmother was a Caucasian Shepherd and her parents bring into the mix Bucovina and Mioritic Shepherd. All of these breeds are large dogs that are used for guarding flocks of sheep in the mountainous regions of eastern Europe.
Whilst we don't think that Gabby will attain the size and bulk of a pure Caucasian, we do think that she is going to be a large dog.
Gabby needs to go to a home where they have either had this type of dog before or are at least prepared to research these breeds.
As these dogs have strong guarding instincts, Gabby will also need to start puppy training classes and continue to be well socialised with both people and other dogs. She is already learning to guard her property and loves a good bark.
She is not yet housetrained - that is work in progress
Gabby is fully passported.
Adopters as with any other GSDR dog, must sign a contract not to breed from Gabby and she must be spayed 3 months after her first season.
Gorgeous fluffball Gabby
How could you not fall in love with that face?
Lots of knuckle on those front legs - she is going to be a big girl
