Elsie - North Yorks

Elsie is a very sweet girl, much less confident than her sister Roxy, but really wants to please and make her owner happy. She is very motivated by food and is very clever (she has learned how to open a secure food container!)

She is very happy when given tasks to do, she will clear her toys away, will pick up washing for her current owner and continually wants to be helping. She is a very bright girl who would probably love scent work, tracking or other such activities.

A typical shep, she is vocal when you first go in the house, but very soon settles and wants plenty of cuddles once she’s sussed you out.

She is definitely dominated by her sister, but they played really well in the garden. She loves to chase a ball and will drop it back at your feet. She takes treats very gently.

She is a little nervous on the lead, will bark at other dogs but more out of curiosity than anything else. She is walked with her sister, so I would think that the barking might stop once she is away from her influence. She would want to please her human.

She has been fine with children of all ages, but as with Roxy, she is quite boisterous so older children would probably be best with her. However, I think this could easily be managed by the right owner.

She needs someone to keep her stimulated, give her a purpose and keep her active mind busy. I think she would bond quickly with a new family given some direction and confidence.

She would be better homed away from Roxy as she is being over-shadowed at the moment and I don’t believe I saw the true dog when I visited.

Elsie will make a lovely family pet, she is affectionate and needs leadership and cuddles.
