*** We have till 11th April to find Ellie a Foster/Forever Home ***
Ellie is now looking for a permanent foster/forever home we do think she’ll be better with another male dog in the household. Ellie’s foster mum has to go away shortly and no one to look after her. You will need to have passed a home check.
This is what her foster mum had to say about her.
Beautiful Ellie came to GSDR as an urgent foster as her elderly owner had passed away and she was booked in to be put to sleep sadly. She has been in foster a month and has really come out of her shell. Ellie can be aloof and unsure of strangers, but with the right person who has patience and time for her she is the loveliest dog. She loves snuggling in to you, tummy tickles and playing with her ball. As an older lady she is happy with a walk around the block as she was not walked much by her previous owner. Ellie does need her own space and will often take herself off to lie behind the sofa or in the garden she can appear a little aloof and may bare her teeth if she is unsure, she did that in foster at first but now gives lots of sloppy kisses. She is good as gold on a night, and you do not hear a peep out of her and is also a good girl around the house, she does not need lots of attention and does not chew or destroy. She likes to sleep on a blanket and not a bed as this is what she is used to. She is not fussy about her food and likes to graze. She pulls a little on her lead but does not bother with people or other dogs out on a walk. The best way to introduce Ellie to your home is just to let her do her own thing and she will come to you in her own time when she gains your trust. Once you have bonded with her, she has the waggiest tail. Ellie is nine now and needs a lovely home with lots of love and fun for the rest of her days, she really is a loyal girl. She currently lives with an 8 week old GSD pup and has been amazing with him.
