Ella - North East

Ella - North East

Ella is an incredibly placid dog in the home. She didn’t bark when I knocked on the door or when I entered and immediately came over for a fuss. She took treats gently and was just an overall lovely girl,

She currently lives with 5 children of all ages and is absolutely finewith them. Neighbourhood children were in and out while I was thereand she didn’t react at all.

They are rehoming her due to an incident where all 3 dogs were left outside.

I met a wonderfully friendly dog who was putting up with a lot from the resident children, I intervened at one point as the child’sbehaviour towards Ella wasn’t being regulated in any way and she wasn’t enjoying it.

They have done no training with Ella and she pulls like a train on the lead. She is incredibly reactive to other dogs, even from a distance and her hackles were straight up. As long as a dog is in sight, she will bark. She is also reactive through a fence. That said, no attempt was made to manage this behaviour by the owner.

The male in the home works offshore and when he is away the dogs don’t get walked.

My recommendation would be that she needs to be an only dog with an incredibly confident and experienced owner.

I would also recommend spaying as soon as possible as it seems that the change in behaviour happened due to season.
