Duke is sadly in need of a new home due a change in his owners circumstances and he is now being left for long periods of time.
He is a young boy of 4 who is microchipped but his vaccinations are out of date.
Duke is a black and tan short haired boy who sadly has been diagnosed with Epilepsy. He is on medicaxtion for this and is coping well. He could really do with a change in diet as he is not on the best one at the moment and that may also help kerbing his seizures. He can go months without a seizure and thn have 2 or 3 in a short space of time. His owners have no idea what triggers his seizures.
Duke has many tricks one of which is opening doors if they are unlocked when he has a need for the toilet. At the vets he is muzzled and normally taken through the back door to avoid waiting dogs in the reception area. Duke is not a fan of other dogs.
Duke loves a game but will rarely release a ball as he thinks that it is a game to keep hold of it. He has no aggression around food or toys. He isn't bothered by thunder, but is not too keen on fireworks.
Duke is rarely let off lead as he has little to no recall if there are distractions. He pulls like a train which led the volunteer to believe that he is rarely walked.. Duke will walked past people without reaction but if he sees another dog he will bark and lunge. The volunteer said that it was quite a tense experience. Duke wanted to stop and sniff but was not allowed.
In short this boy may have epilepsy but please don't let that put you off. He is a lovely boy who will blossom in the right home with time, patience, training, socialisation and a decent diet.
