Draco - North East

Draco is a 5 year old GSD x Carpathian Shepherd who finds himself looking for a new home through absolutely no fault of his own. His current owners have had a relationship breakdown and poor Draco can not stay with either party once the house sale goes through in a few weeks.

Draco is such a lovely natured dog, who greeted our volunteer quietly and was happy to gently take treats. He is currently living with 2 female, medium size dogs, so will be fine living with another dog after the usual careful introductions.

Draco has never lived with cats, so we have no information on whether he would be able to or not. However, the owner does say that he doesn't appear to react negatively to them when he sees them outdoors.

Draco has never lived with, or been around children, so he will need to be rehomed in a child free home. However, he could be rehomed with older, dog savvy teenagers.

We're told he can be vocal with new visitors and strangers in the home, but does stop when told to. If the visitors are doggy confident he is quite calm with them, but if visitors show fear of him, it makes him a little nervous. He is prone to jumping at visitors when they first arrive too, so training will be needed here.

Draco walked fairly well on his harness and didn't really pull, but did walk at the end of his lead, so he'll benefit from some loose lead training. He is dog reactive to large dogs when on lead, but we are led to believe he is good with small, calm dogs.

All-in-all, Draco is a well balanced dog that has so much love to give. He will thrive in a loving home where his owners have the time to continue his training and give him the life he so deserves.
