Dozer is one of a pair of white males being rehomed from this house. The dogs live together and their owner would prefer if they were rehomed as a pair. There are other dogs in the house but these two do not have contact with the others.
Dozer is hardly more than a pup and he will mature into a fine looking dog when he put on some weight. He is a lanky teenager at the moment and needs to fill out into the dog that he has the potential to be. His owner describes him as 'calm and affectionate' as he is when he is with her. Our assessor found him to be nervous of her and wary about making contact, even though friendly when he summoned his courage up. His older companion is very friendly and Dozer has been able to hang back. He would benefit from a home where his needs are catered for on an individual basis.
Dozer is walked and responds to voice commands. He pulls slightly on the lead and is excitable, although much of that could be explained by being walked individually, with his companion left behind protesting at the separation. No dogs were encountered on the walk an so it was impossible to assess his reaction to dogs outside the home.
In summary Dozer is a handsome youngster with the potential to mature into a very good looking dog. He is currently rather nervous and needs a home where he will receive more training and his potential can be developed.
Could you take on this boy, with or without his brother?
