Donny is an adorable 3yr old long haired GSD. He hasn't had the best start in life, and we believe that he may have been mistreated. He showed no signs of aggression to our assessor but he was a little nervous of being handled. He sat when asked to for a treat and understands the command 'wait'. He was recently taken in by a lovely family when Donnys owner died, but although they fell under his spell, he is a bit too much for them to handle with their existing commitments. He has always been an outside dog but keeps his kennel very clean, so he should adjust to home comforts quite easily. Donny is in very good condition for an outdoor dog, he tolerates some brushing but his coat will need some attention around his ears and hind quarters. He is quite happy to lay on his back and have his belly brushed. He enjoys his walks and is fairly well behaved on a lead, his recall needs work as it is non existent at the moment. He is good with other dogs although he can be quite boisterous, he has only ever lived with smaller dogs. Due to his slight nervousness and his boisterousness we would only rehome him with older children, he has lived with a young teenager and was great with her. Donny is not a cat lover. This lovely lad is just getting used to love, exercise and attention and is looking for a new experienced home where this can be continued and built upon, giving Donny the opportunity to overcome his nervousness and grow in confidence to become the fantastic dog that is hidden inside him. Donny is now in kennels and in dire need of a home to help him face his fears.
