Dixie - Tyneside

Dixie - Tyneside
Dixie's is a very sad case. She comes from a dysfunctional and violent household as a result of which she is nervous, even depressed. Nevertheless, she shows no sign of aggression and was a different dog when our volunteer walked her. She walked quietly on the lead, ignoring people and other dogs and seemed happy to be out - she did not greet her owner on her return from the walk. She has lived with young children without any problem. She is now safe with the Rescue in fostercare, but desperately needs a kind, loving, permanent home, where we believe she will respond with loyalty and affection. UPDATE: Feb 2013. Dixie has been returned to us after being adopted for 2 months, the reason being given that she leaves the room when the female owner comes in! Our volunteer went to pick her up and said that Dixie was petrified of the woman and would not leave her bed. Dixie has gone back to her foster family where she immediately relaxed and is much happier which makes us think that she was getting shouted at. Dixie needs a home where she is going to be treated with kindness, patience and understanding. She is a fabulous, easy dog and is good with dogs, children and cats. She deserves a home that is worthy of her.
