This is what our Volunteer had to say about Diesel:
When I arrived at the house Diesel was shut in the dining room. He was doing a lot of barking and jumped up to the window. When he quietened down, the owner let him into the living room. Diesel was very excited to see someone new in the house, he ran up to me and showered me with kisses. He is a very excitable dog, but as soon as the owner said in a calm voice “in your place”, which is his bed, he went and laid down on it straight away. He gave me his paw, very gently, and sat when I asked him to.
Diesel ’s owner has put a lot of effort into training him . He's been to puppy socialisation classes , but due to his illness he has not been able to keep up with further training. He does however know all the basic commands
We took Diesel for a walk he's very strong on the lead and pulled his owner where he wanted to go. We did see another dog whilst out walking, Diesel’s body language was good . I didn’t see his heckles go up and his tail was low. Although he did pull owner to get to the other dog but didn’t show any aggression or bark at the other dog.
Diesel has been trained to leave the kitchen when preparing food. He has never been fed human food or begged for food.
Diesel is a lovely dog and been very well looked after, he will need some lead training as he is quiet strong on the lead.
An urgent Home is required for Diesel, his owner is not well and struggling to look after him.
