Meet the gorgeous Dexter who’s 4 years old and is a magnificently regal long haired Black and Tan boy
Dexter is a very sad rehome due to his current owners ill health, his dad has to go into hospital on Monday and so has asked if we can rehome Dexter which is a tall order I know
Dexter is not neutered but is vaccinated and has recently had a health check
When our volunteer arrived at Dexters home he barked once and stopped as soon as he started talking to him, within minutes he was accepting treats and were best friends
Our volunteer took Dexter for a walk, he did pull but was felt that as he’s not been taken out much in recent months he was excited to be out
He did bark when he saw a cat so we recommend he not be rehomed with small furries
Our volunteer did see a dog when out and Dexter did initially bark but when introduced he calmed down and wanted to play
Dexter knows all his commands and is extremely responsive, he loves the water and chasing his ball
Dexter really needs a home where somebody has the time to put into helping him settle into his new home, someone who understands the breed and willing to take him to secure fields for him to have a run around and socialise him slowly with others so he’s not so much a bull in a china shop with excitement
We are looking for a home where there are currently no other animals and children over 12 who have been used to big breeds
