Dexter - Norfolk

We believe Dexter to be around 3 years old and he came into our care as a result of his elderly owner being placed in residential care. Dexter's owner suffered from Dementia and as a result Dexter lived in a stable alongside two ponies and has not thus far lived indoors. Dexter was incredibly timid and anxious but has thrived with our behaviourist at his kennels and is now a completely different animal although there does remain a fair way to go before Dexter realises his full potential. Dexter's confidence has increased significantly as his trust in those caring for him has developed over the last few months and he is now positively playful with those he knows.

Dexter's heritage is unclear, he certainly has some Shepherd in him but his build and overall appearance reflect, we believe, a mixed parentage.

Dexter has previously lived with another dog and is very comfortable with his kennel mates enjoying regular walks with them. On the lead, Dexter's manners are impeccable with no pulling just a general curiosity of everything around him.

Our picture really does not do Dexter justice, he is a very, very special dog and we are looking for equally special owners to share their lives with him. Given his history you will need to have previous rescue dog experience and a significant amount of patience because Dexter's training will need to be taken back to the basics. We're hoping that that very special someone is now reading this.
