Meet GSD x Malamute Delta.
In some ways Delta is a typical GSD pup. He is going to be huge and is full on, confident, cheerful and able to understand commands. He is friendly with dogs, cats and children although, as he is boisterous, he would be best in a home with older children only. He is very affectionate and intelligent and will be quick to learn.
Delta is unique in that he has had some form of service dog training. So, in some respects, he is well trained and in others not. Sadly, due to her health problems his owner has not been able to reinforce the training that he has received. Delta now feels that he is 'the man of the house' and is becoming too dominant for his owner to handle.
Our assessor felt that his behaviour was well within the range of normal for a pup reared in this way. His only true aberration is that he will not toilet outside. He prefers his indoor comforts.
None of his behaviours would be an issue to a confident GSD owner. This is all that this little boy lacks.
In the right home, Delta has the potential to be a truly outstanding dog, both as regards his character and his looks.
