This stunning young lady is Sam who is 3 years old and not spayed.
Sam's owner is devastated at having to rehome his beautiful dog, it's breaking his heart, but he as to go into care. He clearly adores Sam and this is a very difficult thing for him to have to do.
Sam is very protective of the home and when our volunteer knocked on the door Sam jumped up the glass window and she honestly thought she was coming through. But the family put Sam away whilst the volunteer was let in the house and seated. Once seated she was let out to say hello, she came over calmly and said hello. She happily allowed the volunteer to stroke her. She then went and laid on the sofa whilst they chatted.
The volunteer called Sam over and she happily came, she then spent time playing with her female owner. She didn't want to give up her toys but it was play not aggression.
She saw her male owner getting upset and crying and went to him and licked his hand which was very sad and touching.
Our volunteer took Sam for a short lead walk, she didn't walk great on a leash, pulling a lot and zig zagging in front. She wasn't comfortable on the lead and her tail was between her legs. She is used to being off lead going from car to beach.
The owner says her recall is hit and miss.
Other than the initial door jumping she is a lovely dog but needs some work.
For the owner's sake Sam needs to be removed as soon as possible rather than prolonging the agony.
Sam looks to be on the whole a happy healthy much loved dog.
