Charlie is 2.5 years old and now looking for his 6th home! He was originally brought over from Poland as a puppy then sold on several times until he ended up in a GSD Rescue back in 2022. He was then rehomed to an elderly lady who has tried her best to look after him and instill some basic training but now ill health forces another re home.
Our volunteer found a rather unruly large dog who wasnt aggressive but definitely used to doing his own thing as probably got a lot of pent up energy through lack of exercise and stimulation. We are told he is good around other dogs, a family member who visits occasionally has no problem when out and about in local park. Our volunteer walked Charlie with a halti and although rather strong on lead he was just pleased to be out and basically wanted his nose to the ground and snifff. He did settle but he isnt a dog that gives good eye contact so first lesson might be the "watch me" command in order to build up stronger dog and handler team work.
Anyone who is willing to give Charlie his final forever home must be used to large shepherds, one that if he gets over excited will try and still mouth by grabbing your arm. Sadly his previous owners havent found a way to connect with this boy. He isnt aggressive he is just a bit of a bull in a china shop. We are told he isnt frightened of thunder/fireworks and the only time he gets wary is when he sees a newspaper so presume in previous homes he might have been chastised by this method..
If you are experienced, kind and patient and feel you can make a difference to Charlie's life then please contact your Area Co Ordinator.
