Chance is a lovely young lad still waiting for his new home. He is currently in foster with dogs, cats, birds and chickens. He is very sociable with the other dogs and needs a home where he will have company as he loves to play chase and tug.
He is fine with the cats but will chase them if he can get them to run, he will call away from them though and ignores them most of the time. He is also good with the birds and chickens however he is never left unaccompanied with them as his instincts may take over.
Chance has been around children as young as 18 months and he was a good boy but he can be mouthy when excited and is still learning manners around food so would be better suited to older children in the home. He would be ok with younger children who visit though as long as he is managed.
He’s a biddable boy who is very treat motivated. He does have recall off lead when there aren’t distractions but this is being worked on to try to make him more reliable. He can get very excited when he see other dogs on lead but using treats to reward him when he is quiet is working well to improve this.
He is fit and active but he is not walked for more than an hour at a time due to the stress too much exercise will put on his remaining front leg. He is unphased by his missing limb and still hurtles about on walks and in the garden when playing with the other dogs. He does fall over if he catches it on anything but he soon gets back up again.
Chance is fine to be left for short periods of time and settles down to sleep when you go. He has also attended the office where his fosterer works and proven himself to be a very popular boy. He loved meeting lots of people and also settled nicely when his fosterer was busy at her desk.
He is a fabulous all round lad and a nice size at approximately 15kg, he walks well on the lead is a pleasure to have around. He is goofy and fun as well as incredibly cuddly and loving. He really will make a great addition to his new families home.

Meet Chance the honorary shepherd.
Chance is a very lucky boy!
He was found in a public shelter with a shattered front leg after being hit by a car. A wonderful rescuer took him out and straight to a vet to have his leg seen to. Unfortunately there was so much damage that the leg could not be saved and Chance underwent an amputation. However, this doesn’t stop him getting around and playing on his three remaining paws.
This wonderful tri-paw boy is only 18 months old as the lady who looked after him during his rehabilitation doesn’t have room to keep him any longer in the house so he is now kennelled outside with the other larger dogs.
Chance is good around dogs of all sizes, gently plays with the puppies and is affectionate with people. He is fully house trained but will need more training on the lead.
Chance is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and would be a fantastic addition to any family home.
