Update - June 2018
Cassie went into foster and as previously mentioned she was very reactive on the lead, sadly she didn’t last long in her foster home as they were not experienced enough to be able to help Cassie. So, Cassie is now in kennels.
Cassie has been in kennels now for several weeks, this poor older girl is not coping very well and to be honest she’s not a moments bother. She’s not reactive on the lead, she’s just at the beginning of her walk very vocal, once she knows you are confident and taking control she really settles.
Another poor Shep whose been let down by an owner who does not have the time or knowledge to put in to helping their dog. Cassie will need a confident, experienced owner and a well balanced dog walking circle, as this is exactly what we have given her and she’s a wonderful friendly girl, who is at the age where she should feel confident in a home knowing that she’s part of the family.
UPDATE: Cassie has now been in kennels with us for a few weeks and she is a delight, the easiest girl in the kennels. Contrary to how she was with her owners, the volunteers have had no reaction from her towards other dogs even when walking past other kennels with barking dogs in. She is just lovely.
Cassie is an extremely friendly older bitch. She greeted our volunteer enthusiastically, but soon settled down. Around the house she is very well-behaved. However, she is reactive towards other dogs, which makes it difficult for her owners to exercise her, particularly in view of family health problems.
Cassie is healthy, neutered and microchipped. Her reactivity is due to fear, so she needs an active family who can help her overcome this, even at this stage of her life.
She needs to be rehomed as a matter of urgency.
