Buddy is sadly looking for a new home through no fault of his own. His owners have moved to be nearer to their children and grandchildren but Buddy is not allowed to be a part of the wider family. It is a very difficult situation so we feel the sooner we can find Buddy a home the better for him.
Buddy barks on your arrival just like most shepherds, he does jump up to say hello but not n an aggressive way just pleased to see you.
Buddy is not good when he goes out and reacts to other dogs but he does live with dogs and is fine with them. Buddy does lunge if he sees a dog before you. The volunteer saw a dog and put Buddy into a sit and fed him a treat whilst te other dog walked past and he didn't react on another occasion when a dog appeared and Buddy barked the volunteer gave a clear NO and she thinks Buddy was so shocked that someone was correcting his behaviour he shut up !! Buddy has had 5 years of no correction and the voluyeer thinks that he has learnt to react. It won't be an overnight fix but with time and patience we are sure that his behaviour can be changed. Even if he doesn't become every dogs best friend we are sure that he can learn to ignore dogs when out and enjoy his walk.
In the house Buddy is a dream, lovely friendly boy who is very happy. When the children visit he is put outside and he really doesn't understand what he has done wrong .
Can you offer Buddy a life line, with some time patience and hard work he will make an amazing companion dog
