Max is sadly looking for a new home due to a change in the wners circumstances. For the last 2 months he has been boarding with a lovely lady who runs a daycare for dog and is living the life on a farm.
Max is a semi coated castrated boy of 6 who is extremely friendly. He was happy to see the volunteer who assessed him and was very well behaved. He is quite anxious when out and about and has a habit of spinning on the lead which his owners had never been able to train him ouot of.
Max loves the company of other dogs is fine with the horses on the farm and not too bad with the cat.
Max can bark at birds, children screaming next door whilst playing on their trampoline, changes in noise level, for example if a lawn mower starts up, but once it’s started he stops. He does not like fireworks, will either bark or hide-away in lounge or under desk and sometimes tremble. He will also bark at the door bell..... a typical Shepherd.
Whilst at daycare he has been chilled and happy neer on lead ouot and about with the other dogs , following his foster carer around.
The main issue with Max is his anxiety of the outside world, even though in his home he was walked twice a day he never seemed to be happy, getting the lead on indoors he wouod be calm but once the door had been opened and they were off he would be spinning on the lead (chasing his tail)
This has been worked with on and the foster home have found that if he is muzzled for the first five minutes he is better and once settled the muzzle is removed and he is fine. They have not managed to take him off the farm to see how he would be though.
In short this gorgeous boy is almost perfect, he is great with people but has never lived with children he loves to play with all dogs, he shows no aggression BUT he would prefer a rural home where he wouldn't really have to cope with leads, pavements, traffic etc
Please let us know if you could offer Max the home he so deserves
