Blaze is a 8 year old ex service dog who currently lives with his handler but as he is still in the Army wont be around to care for Blaze once he gets re posted. As you can imagine he is very well trained and walks beautifully to heel and has good general commands of sit, stay etc. He also waits to be told to eat and then left to demolish his bowl. He is currently living with another "in training service dog" with no problem. Never lived with cats. As Blaze is an ex service dog he does have quirks such as - much prefers presence of women and is more challenging towards males. He is a good traveller and used to flying as worked in war zone areas for RAF. Our assessor was introduced to Blaze and he was fine and shown by owner how he loves his Kong and playing ball. Outside after a walk where owner showed how beautifully he walked to heel etc Our assessor took charge of Blaze but knew instinctively this is not your usual licking, roll over on tummy kind of dog so will need a very experienced handler who can maintain top dog status and Blaze would very much welcome the one to one handling. Can anyone give this boy a safe retirement home but remember he isn't your average pet.
