Bess is a beautiful three year old girl looking for a new home as her current owner's ill health is sadly preventing them from walking Bess and giving her the attention that she needs.
Our volunteer went to meet Bess and after an initial bark, Bess was happy to take strokes and make a new friend. She's generally very good with people but can be a little unsure of strangers so her new owners might need to give a minute to settle and make sure not to overwhelm her. Our volunteer was going to take her into foster as her owner is starting his treatment next week but when she came back a few days later with her husband, Bess was very vocal. They took her for a walk but still she would not settle. She has been with her current owner since being a pup and will need time to adjust to her new life.
Bess is used to being around her owner 's grandchildren so can be rehomed with older children.
Our volunteer took her for a walk and she was a little strong initially but soon calmed down. She is currently not being walked so she was just excited. Bess didn't react to people when out on the walk and was very good off lead. She likes to sniff things and never goes too far. She saw a dog in the distance and wasn't bothered, although we were told she is not keen on the neighbour's dog. Bess has never lived with another dog so she might be happier as an only dog or with a calm dog after careful introductions.
This lovely girl is very good in the house and is used to being left for short periods of time. She is an easy going dog who will be happy with company and a daily walk with her new human.
