Bentley is 3yrs old and is proving to be a cracking dog. He’s currently in kennels and this is what our volunteer had to say about him : I have spent some time with Bentley now and taken him out of kennels a few times to get to know him. Bentley likes to play with a ball of just about any kind and will bring it back and drop it by you to throw it again. He knows basic commands, has a good recall and walks well on the lead, although he likes being in front and weaving a little. He has been out with my boy, on and off lead together, with no problems at all around food, toys or my boys boisterous play. He's not that bothered to play with another dog but has definitely enjoyed being out with mine. Recently saw a pheasant whilst out, my boys prey drive kicked in but Bentley didn't bat an eyelid at it. On walks so far, if another dog reacts to him, he can be vocal and pull towards them a little, otherwise he will happily walk past or just play with his ball and ignore them. Not good with small dogs, there was an incident where he slipped his collar and went for a small dog causing injury.
Bentley has travelled well in the car to various places and recently had a visit to the vets for a health check. Initially a little unsure but Bentley behaved very well indeed around dogs, people and allowing the vet to examine him thoroughly. On some occasions meeting new people, Bentley has initially been a little vocal but soon settles and taken treats from them and had a fuss.
All in all a clever, relaxed boy who is a pleasure to be around.
