Update November 2018: BEAUTIFUL BELLA has been re-homed!
Her owner is distraught at the prospect of rehoming Bella, who is a much loved dog. Sadly she has to do so, as her work commitment has increased and she feels that Bella is becoming the victim of this. She knows that she is deserves a home where she can have more stimulation and time devoted to her. She wants the best for this lovely girl, who so deserves this.
Bella was rescued some time ago from a dreadful home, where she lived outside and was neglected shamefully. She had been abused to the point that she could only be described as a 'wild thing', when she first went to her current home. She has responded wonderfully to the care and training that she has received there. Nowadays, she could be described as a well trained and socialized dog.
Bella likes other dogs, both outside and in the home, and plays happily when given the chance. Recently, however, she has started to bully the smaller dogs in her pack. At three she is just becoming more of an adult and she is something of an alpha. This is probably part of the reason, but her owner feels that she is also becoming stressed at the long hours that she is away currently. She employs dog sitters but this is no substitute for a caring owner, who is also the pack leader and reinforces pack discipline, just by her presence. Bella is beginning to take this role upon herself and this rarely works.
So, very sadly, Bella is in need of a home , where she is the centre and where she has lots of exercise, love and attention. She would do well as an only dog or with an older quiet male GSD. Her new owner will need to be an experienced GSD owner. Bella has no issues as such, but this is only because she has lived with an owner who has the leadership qualities that an alpha bitch requires. If you are not in charge, then she soon will be.
Are you up to the challenge of the beautiful Bella?
