Bear is a very cute 20 month old puppy in an adult body. However, do not be fooled by those puppy eyes! As you would expect with the breed and his age, he will push boundaries and it’s extremely important that his training continues, and he understands he is not the boss. With this in mind, he should go to a home with people who have previous GSD experience.
Bear is a very clever, happy boy and thrives on leadership and is eager to please. He is very food centric and loves his frisbee and ball. He is responding very well to positive reward-based training and if continued he will make a fantastic companion. He loves travelling in the car, recall is very good if you carry a squeaky ball, great with other dogs and no problem with the vet. He has always been clean in the home . His biggest opportunities are reactivity on walks and allowing people into the house. Again, with the training his foster parents are putting in place both these issues have improved immensely and can be overcome. He is good with people once he has built a bond with them and will greet them with a waggy tail! He requires careful introduction to visitors. His foster parents can give more detailed information to potential adopters. He will require several meets before adoption. He will most likely thrive with another resident dog to show him the way.
