Bear - Teesside

Bear is looking for a very special home, he’s very misunderstood and hoping that his life can improve with a new mum or dad who has the time and experience to work with him. 

This is what our volunteer had to say. When I first met Bear he did appear quiet aggressive and protective, he did have a muzzle on of which I understood why. I quickly realised he was not a nasty dog it was just that he didn’t know me. I took him for a walk and he was quiet strong, although not been out for a while. I then removed his muzzle as I soon realised he was much more relaxed around me. 

When I took him back home he was gentle taking treats from me. I have been visiting Bear on numerous occasions and he has really settled and happy to see me, we even have a play. His heel work getting much better and he’s managing to walk past people and other dogs without reacting. Infact I sat on a bench and talked to a couple who had 2 little dogs and Bear was quiet sociable. Only reacted when the other dogs barked at him. I am very sure in the right hands he will make an excellent companion. He is great with me now and if I hadn’t had 4 dogs of my own I would have definitely taken him into foster. He just needs to go the right home. 

Bear is not a lost cause he’s just misunderstood. I will carry on working with him until he is rehomed. The right person needs to visit on a number of occasions so Bear can get use to whoever adopts him.
