Barney is a wonderful dog who needs someone who is willing to put time and patience into his training. He will need time to learn to trust, he may have been abused prior to coming into our care.
He is generally strong on lead but with perseverance he will walk to heal. He knows basic commands and is clean in the house and generally well behaved. He loves toys and loves to play chase with them, we are working on the tuggers and playing tug. He lives with 3 other GSDs and gets on fine with all of them. H e would probably prefer to be an only dog as he loves human attention but he also likes to play a lot with his fosterer's bitch so other dogs could also work. He is a definite no to cats as he hates them.
Barney loves going to the beach, rivers, lakes, ponds - basically loves water! Barney has joint displays but this is mild and generally doesn't affect him as long as you are aware of this and don't expect him to go hiking. He is fit and healthy and has had a recent MOT check at the vet and given the all clear.
Barney would suit a home with no or older children as he is quite active. All in all Barney is a beautiful dog who just needs someone to spend the time training and working with him.
