Axel is a gorgeous long coat GSD. 5 years old, entire male.
When our volunteer met him, he came to greet her and settled down quickly. He took treats, did some basic commands and was happy to be touched all over.
Axel has lived with another male dog before although there were a few spats. We are told he gets on great with a female Gsd who often visits.
On a walk with our volunteer Axel did use his weight a little to pull towards smells (it was the first time he had been walked in a while) but quickly settled and walked well with our volunteer on a lead. They saw another dog which he just watched walk by. They saw a cat which he did not react.
Axel has been around young kids when they visit, age 5 and 11, but not lived with them. Unknown for cats.
Axel is being rehomed as his owner has sadly passed away. He is currently being looked after by family, who are struggling with such a big breed, and he is sadly not getting the exercise and stimulation this boy needs.
Axel is a very special dog. He quickly picked up on some basic training with our volunteer. Axel would be a great addition to any family.
