Amber is a very nervous girl who has been allowed to rule the household. She is extremely wary of strangers and will bark when anyone enters the house. She does eventually settle down but stays some distance away and will not be tempted with treats.
The couple who have her have become very nervous around her although Amber does respond better towards her female owner and has become protective of her. She has picked up on the male owners nervousness and is now dominating him. She reacts to some people and other dogs when out on a walk. If she is off lead she will run up to other dogs barking but then backs off. She does live quite happy with a tortoise, two budgerigars and a love bird.
Amber is such a lovely looking girl who clearly would benefit from a firm handler but one who will not be intimidated by by her reactivity. She does need more socialisation. Anyone who would be willing to spend time with her training, allow her plenty of exercise and build her confidence would be well rewarded. In the right hands she would prove to be a very loyal companion.
